BEST BETS RECAP

Finnelytics Best Bets went 1-3 on the week. YTD: 6-6 (50%) All-Time 28-14 (67%)

PITTSBURGH (-14.5) vs NC State

The Pittsburgh defense was possibly the most disappointing unit across all of the action Saturday. They were constantly just bullied through the air by the likes of Emeka Emezie who had a huge game for the Wolfpack. The Panthers racked up plenty of penalties in the secondary which did not help either. Overall the defense just did not come to play and without them, this team will rarely cover, let alone win.

Final score: 30-29 Wolfpack (Failed to cover by 15.5 points)

OKLAHOMA (-7.5) vs Iowa State

Oklahoma may actually be in trouble this year. Their defense seems to be the typical OU defense, but this year they are actually lacking offensively compared to past years as well. The skill positions are still hurting from opt-outs, suspensions, and injuries, and Rattler just can't seem to limit the turnovers.

Final score: 37-30 Cyclones (Failed to cover by 14.5 points)

UNDER (44.5) Auburn vs Geogia

The Georgia offense was cruising in the first half which did make this a bit of a sweat at halftime. Luckily the Bulldog's defense once again proved why they should be the top in the nation. Auburn had no shot offensively the entire game scoring just 6 points. UGA's offense slowed down to a halt in the second half making this an easy cover.

Final score: 27-6 Bulldogs (Covered by 11.5 points)

NORTH CAROLINA (-13.5) vs Boston College

The Tar Heel offense put up an underwhelming performance after a 2-week hiatus due to canceled games. They basically handed BC a touchdown after a mental error on the kickoff started the drive at their own 4, which resulted in a tipped INT and then an easy scoring drive for the Eagles there after. All things considered, the UNC defense played well. Surrendering just 2.1 YPC for 40 yards on the ground plus another 313 through the air, however, that came on whopping 56 pass attempts from Phil Jurkovec. Boston College has definitely become a different team offensively compared to recent years. However, 5.6 yards per attempt is something that will need to be improved for sure.

Final score: 26-22 Eagles (Failed to cover by 9.5 points)

LOW CONFIDENCE BETS

Low confidence bets went 2-0 this week. YTD: 7-3 (70%)

AIR FORCE (+6.5) vs Navy

Final score: 40-7 Falcons (Covered by 39.5 points)

ALABAMA (-17.5) vs Texas A&M

Final score: 52-24 Crimson Tide (Failed to cover by 10.5 points)

STOCK REPORT

STOCK UP

Georgia

Jamie Newman, JT Daniels, or Stetson Bennett? Does it really matter? Georgis went back to their old ways this past Saturday against Auburn by just dominating on defense and on the ground. Stetson Bennett made some good plays and played well overall.

Iowa State

After the week one setback against Louisiana, Iowa State has looked much better. The loss of Charlie Kolar against Louisiana may be much bigger than many think. Iowa State pulled off the upset against Oklahoma this past Saturday and firmly planted themselves back in the BIG12 picture.

STOCK DOWN

Oklahoma

Oklahoma dropped two straight game for the first time in who knows how long. Oklahoma obviously has talent offensively, but the lack of cold blooded killers like CD Lamb or others in the past they are really seem to be struggling to match the offensive output compared to recent years. The defense is poor like always, but now the offense just is not covering it up.
