TCU is coming off one of the most magical seasons in college football history regardless of the 65-7 loss to Georgia in the National Championship. However, now that the season is over TCU is burdened with the task of replacing the NFL talent it had this past year and now has to deal with the added pressure of continuing its success from this season.

Moving on to 2023
The first step will be replacing Heisman candidate QB, Max Duggan. Duggan originally did not win the starting job last year, which was given to Oklahoma transfer, Chandler Morris. You would have to imagine Morris will get the nod to start the 2023 campaign again.
The Horned Frogs will also lose their top two rushers Kendre Miller and Emari Demercado. They did get a transfer commitment from former 5-star RB, Trey Sanders from Alabama. Sanders is obviously an elite talent, but has suffered from injuries in the past and has not quite lived up to his 5-star status. Sanders and Emani Bailey will likely get the bulk of the carries in 2023.
Possibly the largest loss for the TCU offense is WR, Quentin Nelson. Nelson is viewed by some to be the #1 WR available in this year's NFL Draft. Just like at RB, TCU will add Jojo Earle to the mix as a transfer from Alabama in addition to Oklahoma State transfer John Paul Richardson. With eligibility just about impossible to track these days, a decision from Taye Barber could leave TCU without their top 3 receivers, resulting in over 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns worth of production. A tough ask to replace for any team.
The interior of the TCU offensive line will also take a large hit. Losing their center and both starting guards to the NFL. To continue the trend, they did add a former 5-star recruit, Tommy Brockermeyer from Alabama. If Brockermeyer stays at his tackle position you could see someone like Brandon Coleman move back over to guard.
Defensively, TCU loses its best player at each level. But, overall they will return 8-9 starters on defense.
The Horned Frogs out of conference schedule features a matchup against Deion Sanders and Colorado to start the year, Nicholls State, and a sneaky tough game against SMU, who continues to add Power5 talent through the transfer portal.
