BEST BETS RECAP

Finnelytics Best Bets went 2-1 on the week. YTD: 5-3 (63%) All-Time 27-11 (71%)

TEXAS (-18.5) vs Texas Tech

An absolutely wild game this was. A few terrible special team mistakes gave the Red Raiders an easy 17 or so points, but really it was the Longhorn passing game that came across as mediocre finishing with a passing Game Score of just 42. Defensively, Texas was not really atrocious all things considered. This is a Texas Tech offense that generally will always get theirs. The Longhorns finished with Defensive Game Scores of 79 against the run and 68 against the pass. Outside of the special team errors, the most glaring issue is who will step up for the Longhorns at wide receiver.

Final score: 63-56 Longhorns (Failed to cover by 11.5 points)

FLORIDA (-13.5) vs Ole Miss

Florida's offense was impressive as expected, putting up just shy of 450 yards through the air and ending with an offensive game score of 92. The surprising part of this game was the Florida defense. Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss offense racked up over 600 yards of offense, including over 440 yards passing. Matt Corral was impressive and Elijah Moore caught over 200 yards worth of passes. The Gator's hung on to cover, however, the defense was concerning.

Final score: 51-35 Gators (Covered by 2.5 points)

SYRACUSE (+7.5) vs Georgia Tech

This game was under control right from the jump. The Georgia Tech defense may have recieved a little too much hype after their week 1 win over FSU (myself included). They were dismantled by UCF (a very good offense, maybe?), and now didn't look great against the Syracuse Orange offense that has looked terrible prior to Saturday. Jeff Sims added another 4 interceptions as his freshman learning curve continues. The Jackets have some exciting young talent but they just are not there yet. End of the day the main takeaway is Florida State is even worse than I thought.

Final score: 37-20 Orange (Covered by 24.5 points)

LOW CONFIDENCE BETS

Low confidence bets went 2-2 this week. YTD: 5-3 (63%)

TENNESSEE (-3.5) vs South Carolina

This was a close game throughout. South Carolina was actually a bit more successul on offense than many thought they would be including myself. Collin Hill, the transfer QB from Colorado State, proved why he won the starting job as he played well.

Final score: 31-27 Vols (Covered by 0.5 points)

ARMY (+13.5) vs Cincinnati

Final score: 24-10 Bearcats (Failed to cover by 0.5 points)

BAYLOR (-17.5) vs Kansas

Final score: 47-14 Baylor (Covered by 15.5 points)

WEST VIRGINIA (+6.5) vs Oklahoma State

Final score: 27-13 Cowboys (Failed to cover by 7.5 points)

STOCK REPORT

STOCK UP

Mississippi State

LSU obviously lost a ton of players all over the field from a year ago, but to put up the impressive amount of yards like the Bulldogs did still has to land them on the stock up report. Should be a very exiting year down in Mississippi.

Miami

Miami's stock continues to rise as they took care of business against what is still a very solid defensive unit for Florida State. The Miami defense's stock can stay put for the time being, since FSU has proved to have zero threat offensively. However, this Cane's offense is going to be a problem.

STOCK DOWN

Duke

Is Chase Brice the next Clemson QB transfer to just not work out? 3 games into 2020 and Brice has now thrown 6 interceptions to his 2 touchdowns while completing just 51% of his throws. Things have not looked great for the Duke offense.
