Clemson Hires Garrett Riley as Offensive Coordinator

Dabo Swinney has seen a lot of criticism recently with yet another year with a struggling offense and overall below-standard performance. Swinney responded with his largest splash hire since Brent Venables was brought on as defensive coordinator. Clemson inked TCU offensive coordinator, Garrett Riley, to a 3-year $1.75 million per year deal making him the third highest-paid assistant in the nation behind Todd Monken and Jim Knowles.
Garrett Riley won the Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach this year as offensive coordinator for TCU. TCU finished the season with the 8th ranked offense per Finnelytics with an overall GameScore of 80 which ranked 5th in the nation. The Horned Frogs scored 40 points a game while averaging about 475 yards.
Clemson finished the year ranked 30th in offense by Finnelytics, however, the passing attack had another down year ranking 53rd with a GameScore of 60 which ranked 81st in the nation.
