Wake Forest transfer and projected starting Georgia quarterback has decided to opt-out and prepare for the NFL draft. Rather shocking news after the Bulldogs are well into camp and just a couple weeks out from their opening game.
The departure opens the door for another highly touted transfer in JT Daniels from USC. However, Daniels has still yet to participate in anything contact related in practice as he is still not 100% recovered from his ACL injury he sustained early last year. Once he is cleared, Daniels will presumably be the #1 going forward.
Outside of Daniels, the only returning Dawg with any extensive game experience in 2019 is Stetson Bennett. Nowhere near as highly recruited as Daniels or some others on the depth chart, but Bennett did however play in 4 games last year while throwing for over 200 yards and completing 74% of passes.
